Female Founders Award for Hannah Helmke

With the Female Founders Award, the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany (AmCham Germany) honors female entrepreneurs in Germany who stand out for their innovative and successful business model.

This year, the six-member jury selected Hannah Helmke, co-founder and CEO of right. based on science, and Julia Piechotta, co-founder of Spoontainable.

"We are very pleased to award this year two passionate founders whose business models are setting signs for the future. With their ideas, both want to actively shape the path towards more sustainability and the business models have the potential to do so. It is precisely such innovative ideas that we need in the fight against climate change on both sides of the Atlantic."

Simone Menne, Executive Vice President of AmCham Germany.

Hannah Helmke had the opportunity of experiencing American entrepreneurship firsthand in 2019 through the International Visitor Leadership Program of the US State Department:

“On that trip and I learned that US entrepreneurs are not afraid of sharing ideas at an early stage. Structures for collaboration between academia and companies are also very sophisticated and established, which is particularly relevant for a topic such as climate change.”

She is very grateful to have been selected for the award and for the support it provides:

Climate change is a truly global challenge and both Germany and the US have a crucial role to play in making a future below two degrees possible. I feel very honored to receive this award and hope that it will provide opportunities to exchange with business leaders on how to measure and manage the alignment of business activities with the <2°C-target.
