As part of the future forum on energy use, the House of Energy will be introducing companies whose products focus on the target group of local communities on 28 and 29 November 2017 at the dokumenta-Halle in Kassel, in a presentation entitled "Tracking Energy Use and Cooperation with Local Communities." The thematic focus will be in the areas of efficiency, digitisation, and new services.


On 29 November 2017, Hannah Helmke will give a lecture called "Start-up Talk: What's Wrong in Germany?" The talk will focus on the possibilities of sustainability through 2°C compatibility.

This informal dinner was devoted to the topic as "How Climate Change Relates to Being Human." The emphasis was on psychological hurdles in how people deal with and regard climate change: Why we talk about it and want to make changes, but are simply not able.

The Blockchain ClimateCup, organised by the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), took place from 23 - 24 June 2017 in Toronto, Canada. Within this framework, Marcela Scarpellini will give a lecture on the role of science-based targets in establishing transparency through digital solutions.

The 11th Learning Network Conference in of the state of Hessen took place on 10 May 2017 at the House of Logistics & Mobility (HOLM) in Frankfurt am Main. The event focused on the topics of mobility and sustainable consumption. At the invitation of the state of Hessen, Hannah Helmke gave a lecture on 2°C compatibility.

The NDC Global Conference 2017 took place from 2 - 6 May 2017 in Berlin. The global conference primarily addressed government representatives from 100 countries. At the invitation of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Hannah Helmke took part in a panel discussion on "Corporate Climate Reporting: Enhancing NDCs’ ambitions and mobilising the private sector."

"The Earth with a Fever" was the title of the talk that Hannah Helmke gave at the IHK sustainability breakfast in PIER F. She discussed how science-based targets can help prevent exceeding an increase of more than two degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, which would thus keep global warming at manageable levels.
